Altos is seeking a qualified  PRN Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner shall provide medical services at the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency, Re-entry and Sanctions Center, a residential facility that provides intensive assessments and reintegration programming for high-risk offenders and defendants with extensive substance abuse histories who are under the supervision of the Government. The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner shall work under the supervision of a Physician to provide clinical services, to include but not limited to the full range of medical services listed below:

  • Conducting baseline physicals. 
  • Gynecological examinations.
  • Testicular examinations.
  • Colorectal examinations.
  • Tuberculin Testing. 
  • Drawing blood. 
  • Obtaining urine specimens. 
  • Makes referrals for diets and or additional laboratory/radiology services. 
  • Annotate resident records to reflect services provided, diagnosis, lab/ radiology results and other pertinent medical data

The Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner shall perform his or her duties in accordance with established medical practices and procedures as well as the government's policy as it relates to medical care for Re-Entry and Sanctions Center Residents.


  • Current Physician's Assistant license or current nurse practitioner's license OR a certification by the American Nurse Association as a Nurse Practitioner. 
  • Certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) OR a minimum of seven (7) years' experience treating individuals with substance abuse problems. 
  • At least 5 calendar years of verifiable experience as a licensed Physician Assistant OR at least 5 calendar years of verifiable experience as board certified and licensed Nurse Practitioner. 
  • A minimum of 3 years' of verifiable work experience as a board certified and licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant that worked in either a residential treatment, community corrections, re-entry, or correctional facility, public health clinic, or federally qualified health center, correctional facility, public health clinic, or federally qualified health center.

  • Able to maintain a professional demeanor and interface with high level medical providers, clients and Altos management and employees.

  • Reliable, dependable, and trustworthy, as well as able to maintain confidential information. 
  • Able to work designated schedule, as well as maintain attendance and punctuality. 
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
